For the three months ended 30 June, gold production at Blanket Mine reached a new quarterly record of 21,070 ounces (oz), aided by a record recovery rate of 94.4%, which offset a y/y decline of 1.8% in tonnes milled.
The Zimbabwe Stock Exchange saw market capitalisation increase 6.98% from June to close the month at ZiG64.92bn. The All-Share index rose 4.30% in the period whilst the Top 10 index lagged behind, rising 2.68%. In real terms, the market capitalisation also rose 6.98% US$1.85bn, with exchange rate movements remain relatively muted in the month.
The full year ended 28 February 2025 was an eventful one for Econet Zimbabwe. The Group successfully completed the core network upgrade in the second half of the year, enabling a deeper offering of products.
During the period, the Group faced an evolving landscape which was characterised by political and exchange rate instability, price controls and trade barriers.
The operating environment was characterised by a currency devaluation during the financial year, policy uncertainty and delayed government payments resulted in operating difficulties and perennial gaps in funding.
Within the month of June, the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange market capitalisation went up to ZiG60.68bn, up 1.74% from ZiG59.64bn in May. The All-Share index rose marginally by 0.19% from May while the Top-10 index was relatively stronger and rose by 1.68% within the period. In real terms, the market capitalisation rose 4.65% to US$1.73bn.
