The GSE-Composite Index gained 2.04% while the GSE-Financial Stocks Index declined by -1.70% compared to last week, bringing the year to date performance to -2.19% and -3.35% respectively. The market capitalization also increased by 0.78% from the previous week to close at GH¢64.10 billion.
This week the major Ghanaian indices closed mostly lower with the GSE Composite index down 86.93 points closing at 2,342.62 points, bringing its YTD return to -4.14%. The GSE Financial Stock Index (GSE-FSI) also lost 22.84 points to close at 2,018.12 points bringing its YTD return to -1.68%.
Market activity for the week declined by 10.82 points to close at 2,449.49 points translating into a YTD return of -12.18%. The GSE Financial Stock Index (GSE-FSI) however gained 1.74 points to close at 2,071.63 points translating into a YTD return of -3.73%.
Ghana’s annual inflation rate accelerated for the 17th straight month to 40.4% in October of 2022 amid the rapid devaluation of the cedi during the month.

The GSE Financial Stock Index (GSE-FSI) which maintained its level throughout the week closed at the same level it opened, 2,069.89 points translating into a YTD return of -3.81%.
