The equity market of the WAEMU Regional Stock Exchange closed lower this week with a BRVM C that fell by 0.72% to 206.92 points and a BRVM 10 which contracted by 0.18% to 163.17 points. The underperformance observed this week is attributable to the declines recorded in all sectoral indices with the exception of the "Other Sectors» sector which recorded an increase of 6.87%. Thus, the sectors "Transport" (-5.16%), "Industry" (-2.22%), "Agriculture" (-1.43%), "Distribution" (-0.62%), "Public Services" (-0.42%) and "Finance". (-0.33%) are all in poor shape this week. As for volume transactions, they increased, unlike the previous week, to 894 584 shares exchanged against 818 213 shares. Ecobank Transnational Incorporated TOGO (ETI TOGO) once again dominates trade, accounting for 67% of this volume. In terms of value, transactions increased by 50.25% to 2.09 billion CFA francs against 1.39 billion CFA francs last week; PALM CI represents 37% of this value followed by SONATEL (17%). In total, 10 values are up against 28 down, 6 values have remained constant. The BRVM bond market posted a market capitalization down by 11 million FCFA, or -0.14%.
The overall capitalization of the bonds is 8 071 billion FCFA as of August 19, 2022. The bond STATE OF MALI 6.20% 2016-2023 represents 30% transactions in value which fell by 54.45% to 235.02 million FCFA.
