The stock market of the WAEMU Regional Stock Exchange closed higher this week with a BRVM C which rose by 1.05% to 200.89 points and a BRVM 10 which performed by 2.24% to 161.75 points. These increases are attributed to the performance recorded in the "Agriculture" (+5.78%), "Finance" (+1.49%), "Public Services" (+0.72%), and "Distribution " (+0.61%) sectors. On the other hand, the sectors "Transport", "Industry" and "Other Sectors" suffered declines of 6.11% ,1.49% and 0.83% respectively.
As for volume transactions, they are down, unlike the previous week, standing at 4 443 991 shares traded against 5 049 695 shares. Ecobank Transnational Incorporated TOGO (ETI TOGO) once again dominates trade, accounting for 87% of this volume. In value, transactions increased by 16.36% to 2.80 billion FCFA against 2.41 billion FCFA last week; PALM CI representing 36% of this value. In total, 20 values are up against 21 down, 3 values have remained constant.
The BRVM bond market posted a market capitalization down by 58 million FCFA, or -0.68%. The overall capitalization of the bonds is 8,73 billion FCFA as of October 21, 2022. The bond with the symbol EBID.05 represents 22% of transactions in value, which fell by 85.77% to XOF 1.43 billion.
