Au titre du premier trimestre de l’année 2022, le chiffre d’affaires agrégé des sociétés cotées à la Bourse Régionale des Valeurs Mobilières (BRVM) affiche une hausse de 14,5% à 1.694 MMFCFA contre 1.479 MMFCFA un an auparavant. Cette performance a été principalement soutenue par la reprise économique à l’échelle régionale. Dans ce contexte, nous relevons que les secteurs Banques, Distribution & Services ainsi que les Télécoms ont été les majeurs contributeurs à la croissance des revenus de la cote avec des parts respectives de 30,0%, 27,0% et 22,9%.
The equity market of the WAEMU Regional Stock Exchange closed lower this week with a BRVM C that fell -0.41% to 206.07 points. The BRVM 10 rose by 0.32% to 163.69 points. The underperformance observed this week is attributable to declines in the sector indices "Industry" (-4.2 8%), "Transport" (- 0.55%), "Public Services" (-0.4 4%) and "Finance" (-0.09 %). On the other hand, the "Other Sectors", "Distribution" and "Agriculture" sectors recorded increases of 5.36%, 1.93% and 0.51% respectively. As for volume transactions, they are up, as in the previous week, by standing at 8 003 931 shares exchanged against 894 584 shares. To the detriment of ETI TOGO, ORAGROUP TOGO dominates trade by representing 76% of this volume. In value, transactions increased by 1106.90% to 27.06 billion FCFA against 2.09 billion FCFA last week; ORAGROUP TOGO representing 94% of this value. Indeed, this Wednesday, August 24, 2022, saw the purchase of 6 100 481 ORAGROUP TOGO shares for an amount of 25.32 billion FCFA, representing 8.79% of the capital of the banking group, or 44% of the free float. This is the largest value transaction since its introduction to the regional market. This record transaction would result in particular from the acquisition by the investment fund SBNA of all the shares of the CGRAE (the pension fund of Ivorian civil servants) in the free float. In total, 17 values are up against 22 down, 5 values have remained constant.

As for volume transactions, they increased, unlike the previous week, to 894 584 shares exchanged against 818 213 shares. Ecobank Transnational Incorporated TOGO (ETI TOGO) once again dominates trade, accounting for 67% of this volume. In terms of value, transactions increased by 50.25% to 2.09 billion CFA francs against 1.39 billion CFA francs last week; PALM CI represents 37% of this value followed by SONATEL (17%). In total, 10 values are up against 28 down, 6 values have remained constant. The BRVM bond market posted a market capitalization down by 11 million FCFA, or -0.14%.
