The stock market recorded a steady performance in the month of April. Total market capitalization declined by 1.09% moving to TZS 15,570.27 billion by the end month. Conversely, Domestic market capitalization increased by 1.99% in the same period.
All share index declined from 1,888.79 to 1876.35 points. While the Tanzania share index increased by 1.90%. This indicates that local counters recorded a positive performance compared to the cross-listed counters.
The banking sector continued to dominate the local stock market where the Banking index increased by 6.48% growing from 3,955.33 points to 4,211.82 points. Commercial services followed with a growth of 0.04%.
